Salary, Wage and Executive Benchmark Data

COIRI was the first organization in Canada to begin compiling and publishing large-scale wage and salary compensation and benefits surveys. The Annual Survey of Hourly-Paid Employees in Ontario and the Annual Survey of Salaried Employees in Ontario are in their 82nd editions.

These reports are the most authoritative publications of their kind and have long been recognized as the benchmarks for wage, salary, and benefits data in Ontario.

All benchmark data is completely anonymous.

Annual Survey of Hourly-Paid Employees

This report includes comprehensive coverage of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled hourly-paid positions covering maintenance & security, manufacturing & production, quality control, warehousing, distribution & logistics, engineering & skilled labour and several apprentice positions. The report includes samples for many hard-to-find positions and is considered a premier source for many production and warehouse positions.

Data for hourly-paid positions is presented for the entire province and then divided into sub-categories by geographic location, size of employer, industry, and union status. This provides users with a variety of viewpoints from which to benchmark.

Every position includes a brief job description, the median hourly rate, and the 10th, 25th, 75th, and 90th percentiles.

The report also includes practical coverage of popular benefits and HR policies and practices, including lead hand premiums, shift premiums, overtime premiums, tool, equipment, and clothing allowances, as well as stand-by and call-back pay.
